Kim Gee

Kim was born in Grimsby on 27th December 1979.When she was 8 she joined Stage One Youth Theatre and performed in many musical productions until at aged 16 she joined Souled Out, a very successful 11 piece soul and blues band.When the band split, Kim joined Warner Holidays as a member of their entertainments team and met her husband Mark who also worked for the company.

When their daughter Molly came along, Kim and Mark moved back to Grimsby and Kim then worked as a solo artist. Harry and Lucas soon completed the Gee family line up.

Kim was studying for an HND in music production at the Grimsby Institute when her mum put her in for Pop Idol. She came 8th. She had a great time on the arena tour where she also helped with the vocal arrangements and was thrilled to play to huge crowds, particularly at Wembly Arena.

Kim went back to college after the show and finished her HND. She also took vocal coaching and acting lessons in London. She worked in pantomime in Swansea as the Fairy in Jack and the Beanstalk and last Christmas performed as the Genie in Aladdin in Carlisle.

In January this year Kim was thrilled to join the Compass FM team as a permanent presenter and has her own weekday show and Saturday morning slot.

Kim has just completed her degree in music creation at the Grimsby Institute and would like to thank everyone there and at Compass and all her family and friends for their continuing help and support.

She is writing and producing her album and it should be ready for release in the summer. Her first single from the album, written performed and produced herself is Walk in the Room, which is due for release on 18th June.
