« toujours fidèle »…

à un idéal de musique, cette volonté d’aller encore plus lion dans l’expression des sentiments, au désir de construire un univers personnel où énergie et émotion se répondent. Et c’est bien dans cet esprit que l’album a été enregistré, « live » avec un son acoustique en janvier 2009.

Le Quartet – le Vincent Jourde Quartet est né au cours de l’année 2008, par petites touches, par éclats et l’alchimie a été immédiate. Chaque musicien est venu apporter sa touche, son caractère au répertoire.

L’album – A la source, c’est Coltrane, la source inépuisable et de spiritualité. Ferdin, un hommage à l’auteur du Voyage au bout de la nuit. La chanson de Gali, Joud’O, Rolca, Nicolas, eux, traduisent l’univers personnel du compositeur.

Le Parcours – Après des études de saxophone classique avec André Beun, Vincent Jourde choisit la voix du jazz avec Bertrand Auger à l’Ecole Nationale de Musique de Noisiel et en atelier avec Peter Giron à l’American school of Modern music. En 2003, la rencontre décisive avec Rosario Giuliani va fortement influer sur sa conception de l’improvisation.

Les Remerciements – Remerciements à tous ceux qui ont contribué à l’existence de ce disque : Philippe Monange, Pierre-Yves Le Jeune et Benoist Raffin pour leur talent et leur engagement dans ce projet, Carole Wrona et la famille Jourde pour leur soutien indéfectible, Thomas Vingtrinier pour ses oreilles, Florence Vax et puis tous mes amis, tous.

to a musical ideal, to the will to go even further in the expression of ones feelings, to the desire to construct ones personnel universe where energy and emotion feed-off each other. The album was recorded in this spirit, “live”, with an all-acoustic sound, in January 2009.

The Band – The Vincent Jourde Quartet emerged in 2008 and it quickly became apparent that there was great chemistry. Each musician contributed with his own personal touch to the repertoire.

The album – A la source, it’s Coltrane, an inextinguishable source of inspiration and spirituality. Ferdin, a tribute to the author of Voyage au bout de la nuit. La chanson de Gali, Joud’O, Rolca, Nicolas, are a window to the composer’s personal universe.

About Vincent Jourde – After completing a course of study in classical saxophone with André Beun, Vincent Jourde set his mind on becoming a jazz musician. He then studied with Bertrand Auger at l’Ecole Nationale de Musique de Noisiel as well as taking ensemble workshops with Peter Giron at the American school of Modern music. In 2003, his encounter with Rosario Giuliani also had a great impact on his conception of improvisation.
